Environmental protection and the depletion of raw materials are forcing retailers and consumers to rethink their packaging needs. Environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging and labels are now in demand – packaging made from bioplastics, cardboard or even agricultural waste such as sugar cane fibre are just a few examples.
For the first time, laser labelling makes it possible to apply a logo, an organic certificate, a country of origin or any other information directly onto the outermost peel of organic fruit and vegetables. Until now, this technology was only available for conventionally grown produce. This innovative process uses no additional substances or additives, as is required for the organic certification of unadulterated natural products, just light.
