Important Announcement: Regarding Coronavirus

Update: Coronavirus 03.02.2020

In accordance with the order of the health authorities of the State of Berlin all participants of FRUIT LOGISTICA are requested to fill in a

mandatory declaration (PDF, 78.8 kB)

before entering the fairground.

This declaration aims at identifying attendees who belong to the novel coronavirus risk group.

Criteria for being part of the risk group are:

recent travel history (14 days) to the province of Hubei or contact to a person with a confirmed coronavirus infection and experiencing typical symptoms (fever, coughing, shortness of breath).

If a participant belongs to the risk group or does not fill in the declaration form, access to FRUIT LOGISTICA will be denied. This is a precautionary measure to protect visitors, exhibitors and the general public.

We kindly ask all attendees to:

• print out the declaration
• alternatively, we also have the document available for you at our entrances
• check the appropriate answer box “YES” and “NO”
• carry the declaration with you throughout your stay at FRUIT LOGISTICA

Copies of the declaration are also handed out at the entrances. For a quick start, however, we recommend that you bring the printed and completed declaration with you. The declaration will be checked every time you enter the fairground.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. The safety of our FRUIT LOGISTICA attendees has highest priority for us, which as in this case includes operating in accordance with related orders from the authorities.

Please keep an eye on our website for further updates.

Update: Coronavirus 02.02.2020

Following the update of the World Health Organization, the health authorities of the State of Berlin have advised Messe Berlin to directly request attendees that belong to the novel coronavirus risk group to not attend FRUIT LOGISTICA.

This request applies to you as an individual only if you have:

• traveled to the province of Hubei within the past 14 days, or
• if you have had contact to a person with a confirmed coronavirus infection and
• especially in case you experience typical symptoms (fever, coughing, shortness of breath)

If you belong to the above mentioned risk group (regardless of nationality), we impress upon you not to participate at this year’s FRUIT LOGISTICA out of consideration for others and public health.

The latest State Health Authority information is that an infection can also be contracted by a person who does not yet show any symptoms themselves. Therefore it is important to also inform healthy people that they may be a risk to others if they have had contact with sick people or have been in Hubei province within the last 14 days.

We remain in close contact with the health authorities of the State of Berlin. Rest assured that the safety of our FRUIT LOGISTICA attendees has highest priority for us and that we take necessary precautionary measures.

Please keep an eye on our website for further updates.

Update: Coronavirus 31.01.2020

We note the update regarding novel coronavirus from the World Health Organisation of 30 January 2020.

We at FRUIT LOGISTICA are monitoring the developments of the coronavirus in China closely in view of the exhibitors and visitors from China who attend our trade show every year.

Please note that at time of writing around 30 per cent of Chinese companies have cancelled their participation this year. We expect further cancellations before the trade fair opens.

Please also note that those Chinese companies that plan to exhibit in Berlin have told us that their stands will be staffed principally by foreign representatives from outside China. Due to travel restrictions we expect the number of visitors from China to be smaller.

Of course, we regret very much the absence of so many of our Chinese customers at this year’s FRUIT LOGISTICA. At the same time, we are very reassured by their actions to stay away at this difficult time for them and their country. We also wish a very speedy recovery in China and send our very best wishes to all our Chinese customers.

These cancellations have all happened as preparations for this year’s FRUIT LOGISTICA are almost complete. Please accept our apologies in advance for some vacant stand spaces in some halls.

Please keep an eye on our website for further updates. Please also note the special measures announced 28 January 2020 in relation to FRUIT LOGISTICA and coronavirus.

Update: Coronavirus 28.01.2020

We are looking forward to welcome you to this year’s FRUIT LOGISTICA next week in Berlin.

As you are aware, the first cases of the coronavirus have now been identified in Europe, including here in Germany. Indeed, the authorities in Berlin have already issued a statement to the effect that Germany is very well prepared to deal with any cases.

The safety and health of our exhibitors, visitors and partners is our number one priority. We do not expect any impact on events planned at the Messe Berlin exhibitions grounds, but as a precaution we are introducing new measures to increase the safety of all attendees at FRUIT LOGISTICA :

  • We will have a number of rapid response medical teams and other health professionals located here onsite to deal with any situations that may arise;
  • Hand disinfectors will now be provided at all entrances of the exhibition in addition to hand sanitation already installed in all toilets and washrooms at the event;
  • We are increasing the frequency with which our facilities are disinfected;

Please be assured that we are monitoring the situation very closely and are in regular contact with the health authorities of the State of Berlin. Should there be any changes to the current status, we will take account of any recommendations from the World Health Organisation, the relevant federal and state authorities, and the municipal health authorities, and implement all appropriate instructions.

Please follow us on our official Social Media channels for updates and for useful information.
