Successes and lessons learned from sustainable banana productionon the path to climate change adaptation and mitigation
The World Banana Forum is a space where the main stakeholders of the global banana supply-chain work together to achieve consensus on best practices for sustainable production and trade. We believe collaboration is the key for progress. Hence, we promote the exchange of information and lessons on agroecological practices and improved water management as a model of renovation of banana farming around the world. During this session, special focus will be made on the importance of South-South cooperation to share knowledge and collectively understand sustainability trends, as well as strategies to reduce carbon and water footprints in banana plantations aiming to minimize environmental impacts.
